Loved making these two characters!! They really brighten up the house, and make us smile every time we walk past them..
I made Bert & Bertha over the first and third lockdowns. I used materials that I already had in my craft supplies. I live with chronic pain from Spinal stenosis, every day is a challenge, sitting and standing are unbearable.. I can’t tell you how much joy I get out of seeing them, they’re bright and cheerie and in all honestly I think I may have ended up creating what Brian and I will be like when we’re older 😂

I made Bertha during the first lockdown back in March 2020, seems like a long time ago now.. I had no idea what I was making, I’d just always wanted to make something with paper mache, at some point I decided she’d was a game ‘ole’ bird with a love for cabaret and in that moment I decided she needed a dancing partner, which is when Bert was created in my mind..

I’m so happy with how they’ve both turned out, the sense of accomplishment I’ve got from making these too is huge as some days I can’t even walk around the house.

I’ve just started working on a picture for my daughters bedroom.. it’s slow going for now, but I can’t wait to finish it…
